Closing of "Carbon Credit Trading Platform"
Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)
Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Japan Institute for Overseas Investment (JOI) will close the site "Carbon Credit Trading Platform"(the "Platform") which is jointly operated by JBIC and JOI as of July 31st, 2012.
The Platform has been providing information such as "Nikkei-JBIC Carbon Quotation Index" which is co-released by JBIC and Nikkei Digital Media Inc., along with information related to carbon credit trading. However, in the first commitment period in Kyoto Protocol (from 2008 to 2012), the amount of carbon credit which had been obtained by Japanese companies seems enough to reach a substantial level and it is decided to close the Platform.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the users who has been utilizing the platform.
