Dublin MRJ Finance Conference

The MRJ Finance Conference was held on January 24, 2012 in Dublin, Ireland. This was the second Conference organized by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation with the aim of promoting the sale of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), the next generation regional jet airplane being developed by the company. The conference attracted about 70 participants, primarily from banks, leasing companies, and air carriers.

At the Conference, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation gave a detailed account of the development status and customer support for the MRJ. Thereafter, Pratt and Whitney, an engine maker in the United States, explained the performance of the PW1200G that the MRJ will be equipped with.

This was followed by a speech delivered by JBIC's Resident Executive Officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Toshiyuki Kosugi. He said: "As an official export credit agency, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) and JBIC intend to jointly provide full support for the MRJ in accordance with the Aircraft Sector Understanding (ASU) agreed upon by OECD countries". He expressed: "The export of aircraft is in line with the Japanese government's new growth strategy. NEXI and JBIC will make use of their insurance and financial facilities to support the export of the MRJ to developing countries, in addition to developed countries." His remarks drew significant attention from the participants".

JBIC will continue to provide a variety of financial instruments and schemes to support overseas business development of Japanese firms through events like this conference.
