MOU with CPC Corporation

  1. The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor, CEO: Hiroshi Watanabe) signed*1 a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on operational cooperation with CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC).
     
  2. JBIC had previously signed a shareholders' agreement*2 on the subscription of preferred shares with KH Neochem Co., Ltd. (KH Neochem) to participate in Taiwan-Japan Oxo Chemical Industries Inc. (TJOC), a Taiwanese company, which manufactures and sells isononyl alcohol (INA) and is jointly established by KH Neochem, CPC and Mega International Commercial Bank Co., Ltd.. JBIC had also financed a liquefied natural gas (LNG)-related project involving Japanese companies and CPC. This MOU confirms such mutual cooperative relationship between JBIC and CPC, while aiming to further strengthen ties by sharing information and views with CPC.
     
  3. As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to financially support the overseas business deployment of Japanese companies by drawing on its various financial facilities and schemes for structuring projects and performing its risk-assuming function.
