On November 28, 2015, Mr. Kazunori Fukusumi, Director of the Planning and Coordination Division, West Japan Office of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), gave a lecture at the "Training School for Monozukuri (Manufacturing) Entrepreneurs" (hereafter referred to as "Tokushujuku"), a joint project between Osaka Prefecture University and FUDAI, a venture company which originated from the university. The "Tokushujuku" is an entrepreneur training school attended by presidents and other executives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). JBIC employees are delegated as lecturers every year, and this is the twelfth such course which commenced in November 2015.
On the theme of "Recent Efforts by Japanese Companies, including Global Expansion of Infrastructure and Manufacturing Industries", Mr. Fukusumi explained the trends of Japanese companies' exports and overseas investment after the recent decline of the Chinese economy, as well as changes to the divided production system of manufacturing companies based on the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community, and the progress of extensive infrastructure developments across borders. The lecture was followed by an active discussion and Q&A session with the participants.
Some participants shared their own experiences, such as issues they face in their actual overseas business, as well as comments on the lecture, including such one as: "the lecture was very informative for considering the future expansion of my company's overseas business."
