JBIC Delivers a Presentation on Its Support for Infrastructure Development at the 3rd Latin America Japan Investors Forum

  JBIC's Suzuki giving his presentation

Ryuta Suzuki, Director of Division 3, New Energy and Power Finance Department II of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), gave a presentation on JBIC's support for Infrastructure development in Latin America, at the 3rd Latin America Japan Investors Forum held at the Conrad Hotel Tokyo on June 29, 2017. This forum is designed to invite business persons and government officials from Latin America and Japan to learn about the latest trends for infrastructure developments and business environments in the Latin American region and Japan with an eye to enhancing business relationships between the region and Japan.

Suzuki made a presentation titled "JBIC in LAC Region - supporting infrastructure development in LAC," referring to the infrastructure projects in Latin America which JBIC has been involved in so far. Additionally, he talked about JBIC's business perspective for the region as well as the challenges that JBIC might face in arranging infrastructure development support scheme in future. His presentation also explained that JBIC is expanding the scope of infrastructure businesses that can be covered by its financing through: i) proactively engaging in an earlier stage of projects through partnership with MDBs and policy dialogues with foreign governments, and ii) launching "Special Operations," which enable JBIC to take further risks in expanding the number of countries and infrastructure businesses which are entitled to JBIC's financing.

JBIC will continue to provide information on its support for infrastructure development to our business partners by giving lectures at international conferences.
