Knowledge Assistance

We are living today in the age of the information society, with almost effortless access to a diverse range of information through the Internet and TV, not to mention print media such as newspapers and magazines. But what is available is a jumble of information with varying degrees of quality. It is therefore imperative for us to find our way around in a flood of variegated bits and pieces of information, sorting out what is relevant, accurate and useful to our purposes.

This is especially true of business. Information required for today's business operations is more diverse, specialized, sophisticated and complex than ever. The key to success in business is thus the capacity to identify relevant and effective data and knowledge amidst a motley assemblage of information.

JBIC, since the days of its predecessor, the Export-Import Bank of Japan (JEXIM), has supported Japanese companies in their overseas business development. In particular, having experience of financing numerous overseas infrastructure and resource development projects, JBIC has acquired knowhow on international finance, while accumulating information on economic and social conditions in developing countries.

The knowledge acquired and research conducted by JBIC in these areas will be helpful to Japanese companies considering overseas business development as well as academic researchers. The following topics showcase some of activities carried out by JBIC for knowledge sharing and assistance.

Public information activities are also an important function performed by JBIC, in addition to information and advisory services for firms and foreign governments and agencies. This section depicts examples of JBIC's information dissemination activities for the general public.
