On July 27, 2016, Noriko Nasu, Director General for Social Infrastructure Finance Department of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) gave a lecture at Engineering Advancement Association of Japan (ENAA). The lecture was given as part of the "Business Lecture Series," which is held for members of the association with the aim of accumulating broad knowledge which contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of the Japanese engineering industry.
Under the theme of "The Basic Concept of Project Finance," Nasu explained to over 100 attendees the fundamental approach to project finance, which has become indispensable for carrying out natural resource development and infrastructure projects in the global market. She also presented the recent characteristics and trends together with examples of past projects. After the lecture, there were questions from the attendees, such as on sectors and countries where specific project finance projects are considered, as well as a comment expressing that the presentation from the standpoint of each player involved in project finance was very interesting.
JBIC will continue to provide a broad range of information through the holding of seminars and lectures, to support the overseas business expansion of Japanese companies.
