Role and Function
As a Japanese policy-based financial institution, JBIC's role is to contribute to the sound development of Japan and the international economy and society, by taking responsibility for the financial function in the following fields, while having the objective of supplementing the financial transactions implemented by private sector financial institutions:
Promoting overseas development and securing of important resources to Japan
Maintaining and improving global competitiveness of Japanese industries
Promoting overseas business for protecting global environment
Preventing disruptions to global financial order or responding to damages from such disruptions
Medium-Term Business Plan
The Plan explicates business issues to be addressed by JBIC over the medium term and sets out resource-dedicated strategies, as well as action plans.
