Japan Bank for International Cooperation
The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) established the Office for Strategic Investment and Lending on November 4, 2025, within its Infrastructure and Environment Finance Group, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding Between the Government of Japan and the Government of the United States of America with Respect to Strategic Investments signed on September 4, 2025, and has been engaging in projects under the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative. Today, JBIC has reorganized this Office and newly established the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Group and the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Department.
As Japan’s policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to engage in projects under this initiative in close collaboration with the Government of Japan and Japanese stakeholders.
