Amid the growing urgency to address climate change, decarbonization initiatives are gaining momentum in Asia. One pillar of such efforts is the Asian Zero Emission Community (AZEC). This special feature issue examines the current state of decarbonization in Asia from multiple perspectives. Opening the issue is an interview with the head of the Asia Zero Emission Center (AZE Center), which provides assistance for the decarbonization policies of Asian countries, followed by an overview of AZEC by a senior executive managing officer of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), firsthand accounts by the chief representatives of JBIC's representative offices overseas, and an analysis of a survey on Japanese companies’ overseas expansion.
