Scope of These Guidelines
These Guidelines (hereinafter the “Guidelines”) apply to all users (hereinafter “Users”) who make use (including, but not limited to, viewing) of the undermentioned official accounts of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (hereinafter “JBIC”) on the social media account(s) that are operated by JBIC (hereinafter individually and collectively “JBIC’s Official Account(s)”) in relation to the services provided to Users by JBIC (hereinafter “the Services”). Users are kindly requested to read carefully and agree to the Guidelines before making use of the Services. Users who have made use of the Services shall be deemed to have agreed to the Guidelines.
Please note that the operation of JBIC’s Official Account(s) may be discontinued and that the information contained on JBIC’s Official Account(s) may be deleted, changed, or corrected by JBIC, without prior notice to Users.

Reply
JBIC’s Official Account(s) is primarily for the purpose of publicizing information. Please note that JBIC will basically not reply or respond to comments or inquiries sent by Users through the reply or comment functions of the social media services, such as “Reply,” “Comment,” and “Direct Message.” To make a comment, request, or inquiry in relation to JBIC or JBIC’s Official Account(s), please contact the Press and External Affairs Division, Corporate Planning Department at JBIC.
Intellectual Property Rights
All content (such as text, photographs, illustrations and image data) on the JBIC’s Official Account(s) is protected by copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, patent, design and utility model rights as well as know-how). These rights belong to JBIC or other rights holders.
In the case that Users copy or reproduce any information on JBIC’s Official Account(s), the source, JBIC, should explicitly be credited.
In the cases of the following (1), (2), or (3), please contact the Press and External Affairs Division, Corporate Planning Department at JBIC in advance to request permission.
- (1) Making a copy or reproduction of the content for commercial purposes
- (2) Using the files with notations to contact JBIC*1
- (3) Making a copy or reproduction of photographs, illustrations, or other image data
*1 For example, those labeled “Please contact the Press and External Affairs Division, Corporate Planning Department at JBIC to request permission to copy or reproduce.”
Caution
- JBIC’s Official Account(s) is for the purposes of making known JBIC, providing information in connection with JBIC’s operations, and for other uses, and is not used to solicit investments or recommend specific investments.
- JBIC shall have no liability for the accuracy, integrity, certainty, availability, etc., of any information on JBIC’s Official Account(s). Any information provided by JBIC’s Official Account(s) is accurate at the time of publication and may subsequently change. Users shall make use of the information on JBIC’s Official Account(s) at their own judgement and responsibility.
- JBIC’s Official Account(s) are operated by external social media companies. JBIC shall not guarantee any functionality or safety of JBIC Official Account(s). JBIC shall not be responsible for responding to any inquiries regarding the operation, usage or technical issues of social media.
- The information publicized on JBIC’s Official Account(s) by JBIC does not necessarily represent official announcements by or the opinions of JBIC. For official announcements by and the opinions of JBIC, please see information such as Press Releases on the websites of JBIC.
- JBIC shall have no liability for any damage that Users incur by making use of JBIC’s Official Account(s) or the Services or because of the unavailability of JBIC’s Official Account(s).
- JBIC shall have no liability for any damage that Users or third parties incur because of trouble between Users or among Users and third parties. In the case that a User causes damage to a third party or other trouble arises, the User shall resolve the trouble with the third party at the User’s own responsibility and at the User’s own expense.
- JBIC shall have no liability for any damage that is attributable to or arises from matters in connection with JBIC’s Official Account(s) as well as the aforementioned items 1 and 6.
- JBIC may view Users’ profiles such as their name and photographs that are made public to all users on the social media settings of Users. Users who are continuing to make use of JBIC’s Official Account(s) or the Services shall be deemed to have agreed to the undermentioned Privacy Policy.
- In the case that JBIC acquires personal information from Users, JBIC shall handle it appropriately based on the Privacy Policy of JBIC.
- JBIC may change the Guidelines without prior notice to Users.
Prohibited Matters
Users shall not engage in any actions under any of the following items in relation to JBIC’s Official Account(s).
- (i) Any actions that interfere with the operation of JBIC’s Official Account(s) or any other actions that cause problems with JBIC’s Official Account(s);
- (ii) Any actions that cause disadvantages, damage or inconvenience to JBIC or third parties;
- (iii) Any defamatory statements about JBIC or third parties;
- (iv) Any actions that infringe copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of JBIC or third parties;
- (v) Any actions that infringe portrait rights or other personality rights of JBIC’s officers and employees or third parties;
- (vi) Any actions prohibited by social media platform operators;
- (vii) Any actions that violate laws or public order and morals; or
- (viii) Any other actions that JBIC deems inappropriate.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The Guidelines are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction for the first instance over any and all disputes arising out of or in connection with use of the Services.
