Loan for Manufacturing and Sales of Plastic Molding Products by Japanese Company in Vietnam
Supporting Overseas Business Deployment of Japanese Mid-Tier Enterprises and SMEs

  • Region: Asia
  • Manufacturing and Services
  • Mid-tier Enterprises and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises(SMEs)
  • Overseas Investment Loans

March 17, 2015
  1. The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: Hiroshi Watanabe) signed today a loan agreement totaling up to USD300 thousand (JBIC portion) with Sahara Industry Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SIV), a Vietnamese subsidiary of Sahara Industry Co., Ltd. (Sahara Industry; Headquarters: Shizuoka prefecture; President: Koichiro Sahara). The loan is cofinanced with Hamamatsu Shinkin Bank. with the overall cofinancing amount reaching USD1.0 million.

  2. This loan is intended to finance SIV for the manufacturing and sales of plastic molding products in Bac Ninh Province of Vietnam. The funds are used for expansion of the production facilities.

  3. Sahara Industry is a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) manufacturing and selling plastic molding products such as automobile parts, and plans to expand its business through SIV in Vietnam and neighboring countries where the demand for automobile parts is expected to increase, backed by the economic growth of Asian countries. Thus, this loan contributes to maintaining and strengthening the international competitiveness of Japanese industries through support for the overseas business deployment of Sahara Industry.

  4. As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to support overseas business deployment of Japanese companies, including mid-tier enterprises and SMEs, in growing markets such as Vietnam, by drawing on its various financial facilities and schemes for structuring projects, and performing its risk-assuming function.
