The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor, CEO: Hiroshi Watanabe) signed on November 26, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Asian Development Bank (ADB; President: Takehiko Nakao).
-
The MOU, whose goal is to promote quality infrastructure investment in the Asia-Pacific region, agrees on strengthening the cooperative relationship between JBIC and ADB through sharing of experience and know-how of the sectors such as infrastructure and renewable energy, as well as by exchanging views on issues such as the development of projects in such sectors.
-
The Japanese government has laid out a policy aimed at strengthening collaboration with ADB in the "Partnership for Quality Infrastructure" (announced on May 21, 2015), and the conclusion of the MOU is thereby in line with the government policy.
-
As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to contribute to the promotion of quality infrastructure investment in the Asia-Pacific region.
