  1. The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: Tadashi Maeda) signed today a Statement of Mutual Cooperation (the Statement) with the Texas Office of the Governor, the State of Texas of the United States of America (the State of Texas). The objective of the Statement is to promote investment by Japanese companies in diverse fields, including the energy and infrastructure sectors in the State of Texas.

The State of Texas is comprised of a large economic zone which has the second largest population and second highest GDP in the U.S., and also boasts the highest population growth in the U.S. A number of Japanese companies have developed their business in the State of Texas and to date, JBIC has provided support for natural resource development projects and other projects carried out by these Japanese companies.
