The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: MAEDA Tadashi) launched 5-year fixed rate JBIC Green Bonds guaranteed by the government of Japan, its Fiftieth Global Dollar Bonds, on January 12 (New York City time).
Ahead of the issuance, JBIC has developed the JBIC Green Bond Framework (the Framework) published in October 2021. All proceeds from the JBIC Green Bonds will be used for green finance to fund existing or future Eligible Projects in accordance with the Framework.
As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to provide financial support to assist climate issue initiatives by drawing on its various financial facilities and schemes.
