JBIC Signs MOU with Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan
Supporting Aeronautical Telecommunications Projects in Uzbekistan with Japanese Technologies

  1. The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) signed on June 11 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The objectives of the MOU include promoting cooperation in the sector of aeronautical telecommunications.
      
  2. This MOU mainly aims to promote Uzbekistan’s aeronautical telecommunications projects, through exchanging information between JBIC and the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan on the country’s plan to modernize its air traffic control systems and on the possible collaboration in finance.
      
  3. The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has been considering modernizations of air traffic control systems in several airports in the country. The exchange of information between the two parties is expected to support structuring projects in its aeronautical telecommunications sector.
      
  4. As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to work closely with foreign governments and governmental agencies, thereby contributing toward creating business opportunities for Japanese companies as well as maintaining and improving the international competitiveness of Japanese industry.
