- The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) signed on October 31 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan has been promoting initiatives to support investment attraction, including improving the investment environment and attracting foreign direct investments. This MOU mainly aims to create business opportunities for Japanese companies in Uzbekistan, by strengthening cooperation in projects involving Japanese companies in fields such as clean energy and social infrastructure development.
- As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to work closely with foreign governments and governmental agencies, thereby contributing toward creating business opportunities for Japanese companies as well as maintaining and improving the international competitiveness of Japanese industry.
