Participation as Speaker in Indo-Japan Conclave 2023 Hosted by India Today

On November 30, 2023, IMAHORI Shinichiro, a representative from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Representative Office in New Delhi participated in Indo-Japan Conclave 2023 as a speaker.

The event was held in New Delhi by the local media conglomerate India Today Group, with the support of the Embassy of Japan in India. Senior officials from Japan and India made speeches. Among them were Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, former Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), and Mr. SUZUKI Hiroshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to India. In addition, there were panel discussion sessions on various subjects related to economic cooperation between the two nations.

IMAHORI participated in the panel discussion titled “The Green Hydrogen Boom.” Regarding the Indian government's active efforts to expand green hydrogen and ammonia production capacity and create export opportunities, he said Japan’s energy security will benefit from such efforts from the perspective of diversifying the supply of resources, placing hopes on the possible alliance between Japanese companies with a great deal of knowledge and experience in resource business and Indian renewable energy companies. The event offered a valuable opportunity for networking and exchanging views, which will lead to strengthened bilateral ties.

As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to provide financial support for Japanese companies to create business opportunities and address climate change issues, thereby contributing toward the further development of economic relations with related countries.
