The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) launched 6-year fixed rate JBIC Green Bonds guaranteed by the government of Japan, its Sixty-fourth Global EUR Bonds, on October 9 (New York City time).

JBIC has developed the JBIC Green Bond Framework (the Framework) published in October 2021. All proceeds from the JBIC Green Bonds will be used for green finance to fund existing or future Eligible Projects in accordance with the Framework.

As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to provide financial support to assist climate issue initiatives by drawing on its various financial facilities and schemes.
