The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Governor: HAYASHI Nobumitsu) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Angola, taking the opportunity of the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), which is being held in Yokohama.
This MOU is primarily intended to create business opportunities for Japanese companies in Angola. To achieve this, JBIC and the Ministry of Finance of Angola will exchange information on projects related to the development of key infrastructure in Angola, including the water, energy, and telecommunications sectors, based on the specific needs of Japanese companies operating in these fields across the African region.
As Japan's policy-based financial institution, JBIC will continue to work closely with overseas governments and governmental agencies, thereby contributing toward creating business opportunities for Japanese companies as well as maintaining and improving the international competitiveness of Japanese industry.
